Black Cathedral is a community sanctuary for people who have felt like “too much,” “different,” or misunderstood—especially in the places where shame lives. Black Cathedral is stewarded by its founder, who holds the vision and integrity of the space, alongside a co-steward who tends to the environment and experience—ensuring the Cathedral remains grounded, welcoming, and human.

What Black Cathedral Is

Black Cathedral is a safe, grounded, consent-led community space where people are allowed to be fully human—without performance.

It is for:

• the misfits, edge-walkers, and the “too much”

• people exploring shadow, shame, taboo, and the parts we hide

• those seeking real connection, not curated perfection

Black Cathedral is not about shock. It’s about belonging without erasure.

What Black Cathedral Is Not

Black Cathedral is not:

• a religion

• a cult, hierarchy, or belief system

• therapy, medical care, or crisis intervention

• a space for glamorizing harm, hate, abuse, violence, or illegal activity

• a place where you are pressured to disclose personal trauma or go deeper than you want

Black Cathedral does not promise salvation, enlightenment, or transformation.
It offers container, community, and consent.

How Inspired Alchemy (IA), Perpetual Alchemy (PA), and Black Cathedral Relate

These are distinct—but intentionally woven.

Inspired Alchemy (IA): The Inner Work

Inspired Alchemy is the path of meeting yourself:

• shadow awareness

• nervous system grounding

• personal responsibility

• self-trust, self-honesty, self-repair

IA offers structure. It supports people in understanding their patterns and returning to themselves.

Perpetual Alchemy (PA): The Living Continuum

Perpetual Alchemy is the understanding that:

• transformation is cyclical and ongoing

• healing is non-linear

• integration happens in seasons

• no one is “finished”

PA is not a finish line. It’s the current that carries us forward.

Black Cathedral (BC): The Relational Sanctuary

Black Cathedral is where the inner work becomes lived:

• not performed

• not proven

• not forced

It’s where connection happens after self-meeting—where people practice being seen with others, from a more rooted place.

Inspired Alchemy helps you meet yourself.
Perpetual Alchemy honors the ongoing process.
Black Cathedral is where we meet each other from that place.

How Perpetual Alchemy Moves Through the Cathedral

Perpetual Alchemy is not “taught at” Black Cathedral like a doctrine.
It moves through the Cathedral as a living current.

You’ll feel PA in the way we:

• honor return (you can step away and come back without shame)

• refuse “completion culture” (no one has to be fixed to belong because no one is broken)

• welcome change (you’re allowed to evolve in real time)

• prioritize integration over intensity (depth without destabilization)

In Black Cathedral, becoming is allowed to be slow, honest, and human.

The Black Cathedral Community Agreement (Required)

By entering Black Cathedral spaces—online or in-person—you agree to the following:

1) Consent Is Foundational

Sharing is always optional. Silence is participation. No one is pressured to disclose, “go deeper,” or heal on demand.

2) We Speak from Our Own Experience

We use “I” language. We do not diagnose, therapize, or try to fix each other.

3) Confidentiality Is Sacred

What is shared in BC stays in BC. No screenshots. No forwarding. No retelling others’ stories outside the container.

4) Shadow Is Welcome, Harm Is Not

We can discuss taboo topics without glamorizing or encouraging harm. Hate, abuse, violence, and illegal activity are not welcome.

5) No Hierarchy of Depth

There is no competition for vulnerability. No one is “more advanced.” Everyone belongs where they are.

6) Respect Across Difference

Disagreement is allowed. Disrespect is not. We do not shame, mock, invalidate, or bypass one another.

7) This Is NOT Therapy or Medical Care

BC is community space—not a substitute for therapy, medical care, or crisis support. If don't have a trusted counselor or therapist, please check our Directory of Alchemy for licensed medical professionals that we personally know. 

8) Boundaries Are Honored

Direct messages should be consensual and respectful. “No response” is a boundary.

9) Participation Is a Choice

You may step back or leave at any time. Your worth is not measured by activity.

10) Responsibility Matters

Each person is responsible for their own care and regulation. Community does not replace accountability.

Joining the WhatsApp Group (Read Before Requesting Access)

The WhatsApp group is a consent-led discussion space for shadow-honest community. It is not a debate arena, not a therapy group, and not a place for cruelty disguised as “truth.”

To request access, you must:

• read this page fully

• agree to the Community Agreement above

• commit to confidentiality​​

The Future Physical Black Cathedral

Black Cathedral is currently held as an online community space, with plans to expand into a physical location in the future. We have no idea when, but it what we are working towards. 

When it becomes a real-world space, Black Cathedral will be:

• a family-safe community sanctuary

• a welcoming environment centered around connection, creativity, conversation, and presence

• a place for gathering, art, music, reflection, and shared humanity

• a café-style space offering coffee, kava, mocktails, and nourishing food

• a home for events, circles, markets, and community experiences

The physical Black Cathedral will not be a religious institution or spiritual authority. It will remain grounded, inclusive, and consent-led—designed for people of all ages to feel welcome and safe.

While the online community is 18+, it reflects the values and ethics of what is coming, even as the physical space continues to unfold in its own time.
